Camp NaNoWriMo, week 1

Word count status:
Goal: 50,000
Current: 4,086
Should be, as of 8/2: 3,225

It’s that time again!

Last year, I attempted to write a novel for both Camp NaNo and normal NaNo, and it would be an understatement to say it was overwhelming. By mid-November, I was burned out. But I couldn’t resist writing something for Camp NaNo this year, so I’m going with fanfiction.

It’s probably better this way. There’s no pressure, and it trains my writing brain to undergo a long project again. I feel sorry for anyone who wants to actually read a 50,000 word fanfic, but more power to them. (Honestly, it may not be that long, but I have other projects in mind to make up the difference.)

For inquiring minds, it’s focused around the events of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, namely those events that occurred long before the game. So really, I have to make a lot of it up anyway. I have some good characters to work with, though. I’m also keeping a quasi-daily log of my progress at my Fire Emblem blog, if you’re into that sort of thing and want to track the tag.
